"Liverpool ready to pay €90m for Felix Nmecha"
The figure comes from one unnamed source. The contact with the player's camp comes from Sky Germany, which also says no move is being prepared.

Where it started
CaughtOffside, 17 October, from one unnamed source: Liverpool admire Nmecha and are weighing a move of around €90m as an alternative to Alex Scott. TEAMtalk added on 19 October that Manchester United had made contact and put the valuation at €90m to €100m. On 23 October Sky Sport Deutschland reported that Liverpool had contacted the player's representatives but were not preparing a concrete move, ranking Camara and Scott above him.
What happened next
Sport.de, Africa Soccer, Tuttomercatoweb and others carried the chain. The German site Neunzigplus noted on 19 October that CaughtOffside was the only source for the €90m line and that no established outlet had confirmed it.
What was checked
Dortmund extended Nmecha to June 2030 on 11 March, with Lars Ricken calling him central to the squad's planning, and Ricken told Sky in May that he was elementary to the club. Nothing from Liverpool, United, the player or his agent since. The reported release clause differs between outlets, €70m and €80m, and TEAMtalk says none can be triggered in January.
Verdict
Misleading. The figure and the readiness to pay rest on one unnamed source repeated by others. The one credible report, Sky's, says there was contact and no move is being prepared, which is the opposite of the headline. Claim dated 17 October 2026; verdict dated 24 October 2026.
