"Al Ittihad have made an official €25m offer for Brahim Díaz"

One reporter's line, with the word "official" added by the outlets that repeated it. Neither club has commented.

Where it started

The claim appeared on 18 and 19 October, attributed to the journalist Ekrem Konur: Al Ittihad had offered around €25m for Real Madrid's Brahim Díaz, who is short of minutes under Mourinho, and the player would rather stay. The earliest article we can date is El Gol Digital on the evening of 19 October, which names no source and calls the offer official.

What happened next

Morocco World News, Africa Soccer, Sportingpedia and a run of Arabic sites repeated it within a day, several of them with the word "official" in the headline. None of them adds a second source; the ones that name a source name Konur, and we could not find his original post.

What was checked

Neither Real Madrid nor Al Ittihad has commented. There is no statement from the player or his representatives. The only document in sight is his registered contract, which runs to June 2027; an extension to 2030 has been reported but never announced.

Verdict

Misleading. A single reporter's claim of an approach became an official offer in the retelling, and nothing on the record supports the stronger version. Claim dated 18 October 2026; verdict dated 24 October 2026.
