Six days out of Marseille's reserves, Abdallah wins it at Lens
Lens recovered from their own early gift but not from Marseille's bench. A fifth straight league win takes Marseille fourth.

Keyliane Abdallah spent a week with Marseille's reserves, sent there by Bruno Genesio after a performance off the bench in the 4-3 win over Le Havre that his manager judged not good enough, and rejoined the first team on 2 November. On Sunday Genesio sent him on in the 78th minute with Angel Gomes, and four minutes later the two of them had won the match. Gomes played in Igor Paixão, Paixão's cross was not cleared, and Abdallah finished from close range: Marseille won 2-1 at Lens.

Lens had put themselves behind inside two minutes. Jonathan Gradit's back-pass ran past Samson Baidoo, and Amine Gouiri reached it first to roll it into an empty net. Four days earlier Lens had lost 9-1 to Como, and Yannick Cahuzac had said there would be no punishment, only the team he judged most ready for Sunday. Two of its back three made Marseille's opening goal.
The side Cahuzac picked then played the better football. Florian Thauvin, Lens's captain and a former Marseille player, headed in Florian Sotoca's cross from the right in the 20th minute, and Lens created the clearer chances after it: the best of them fell to Yassine Titraoui just before half-time, and Jeffrey de Lange saved it with the score 1-1. Marseille's best was Gouiri's looping volley onto the top of Robin Risser's crossbar.
The win is Marseille's fifth in a row in the league and takes them to 18 points and fourth place. They have still not drawn a league match this season: six wins and four defeats from ten. Lens, beaten for the third time in a row in all competitions after Lille and Como, stay on 13 and drop from ninth to eleventh.
Lens go into the international break with a defence that has conceded in all ten of their league matches and handed Marseille the lead in the second minute of this one. The side Cahuzac judged most ready held Marseille level from the 20th minute to the 82nd; the points went to the manager who had sent his match-winner down to the reserves.
