Ødegaard punishes the one save Tzolakis could not hold
Hull's goalkeeper kept Arsenal out for 72 minutes, then pushed one shot back into play. Arsenal are still the only side in the league with a win in every home match.

Konstantinos Tzolakis had kept Arsenal out for 72 minutes when Noni Madueke shot at his near post. The Hull goalkeeper got to it but could not hold it, Martin Ødegaard reached the loose ball first, and Arsenal won 1-0 on the only goal of the afternoon.

It was not the first time Tzolakis had been asked. He saved Declan Rice's header in first-half stoppage time and Madueke's shot in the 57th minute, and after the goal he stopped Mikel Merino and Viktor Gyökeres. In the 87th minute Madueke was through on him and he still got a touch, and Brooke Norton-Cuffy cleared the ball off the line.
Arsenal thought they had a penalty before half-time, when Nobel Mendy pulled Kai Havertz down in the area. The review found Havertz offside earlier in the move, and the game stayed goalless.
Sergej Jakirović had promised a Hull side on the front foot. Their best moment came early, when Elliot Stroud forced David Raya into a save, and a team that had scored in seven of its nine league games did not score in this one.
Arsenal have 27 points from ten games and keep their home record whole. Hull stay on 11 points, without a league win in eight. Their five draws came from holding on to the end; at the Emirates they held on until the 72nd minute, and lost to the one ball their goalkeeper could not keep.
