Juventus beat Lecce 2-0 in Serie A, with both goals coming in the first half from Weston McKennie and Douglas Luiz.
Lecce started brightly, and Konan N'Dri pressed Vicario into an error within the first 30 seconds, but nothing came of it. Juventus went ahead in the 29th minute with their first real attempt, a rehearsed free-kick routine. Douglas Luiz chipped the ball over the Lecce defence, and McKennie beat the offside trap and slid it in from about eight yards.
Douglas Luiz made it 2-0 in the 41st minute. Federico Gatti laid the ball off, and the midfielder hit a first-time right-footed shot from the edge of the area into the far bottom corner. It was his first goal for Juventus and gave him a goal and an assist in the same match.
Lecce made changes and pushed harder after half-time, but the second half brought few chances and the score stayed the same. Kialonda Gaspar was sent off for protests in stoppage time, after the result was already decided.
It was Juventus' first league win after a 1-1 draw with Cagliari and a 3-0 defeat to Lazio in their previous two games. They are seventh on 14 points, 3 points behind fourth-placed Como, who hold the last Champions League place. Lecce are 12th on 9 points.
