Inter had Como beaten before Josep Martinez had a save to make

Inter were two goals up by the 19th minute, and Josep Martinez did not have to make a save until after the hour. Como could have gone above Inter with a win and have been passed by Milan instead.

The final score, 2–0, between the Inter and Como crests over a view of San Siro.

Inter beat Como 2-0 with two balls in from the flanks inside the first 19 minutes: Djed Spence's from the right, which Pio Esposito turned in, and Piotr Zieliński's from the left, which Como cleared only as far as Marcus Thuram.

Spence's came in the 12th minute, after Thuram had held the ball up on the right to wait for his overlap. The cross was low and hard, and Esposito got in front of Jacobo Ramón to score from close range. Zieliński's was driven in the same way from the other side, and Thuram hit the loose ball first time with his right foot.

Como had been warned twice before Thuram scored. In the eighth minute Ramón's header back nearly beat his own goalkeeper, Robert Sánchez, whom Cesc Fàbregas had picked ahead of Jean Butez, and Federico Dimarco later missed from close range after Nicolò Barella's cross.

Como's first half produced a Nico Paz shot from distance over the bar and nothing for Josep Martinez to save. Fàbregas took off Máximo Perrone and Martin Baturina at half-time, yet Martinez's first save came only just after the hour, from a ball Paz drove across his goal. Paz's shot against the woodwork late on was as near as Como came.

It was Inter's twelfth straight league win over Como and their sixth in six league games at San Siro this season, and they have not lost to Como at home since 1950. Fàbregas is still without a league point against them.

Since the derby defeat, Cristian Chivu's side have played twice, scored five and conceded none. Atalanta away is next, after the international break.
