The opener came from Wesley's cross, which Cristante met with his head. In the 31st minute his pass found Rodrigo Mora free at the far post, and from there the first half ran away from Udinese. Two minutes later Donyell Malen cut in from the right of the area and struck it into the bottom corner. In the 37th Evan Ndicka rose to head in Matías Soulé's corner: three goals in six minutes.
Udinese answered five minutes after the restart. Pierluigi Gollini saved Lennon Miller's shot from the edge of the area, and Nicolò Zaniolo was first to the rebound. Matteo Palma made it 4-2 in the 78th minute, meeting Hassane Kamara's long ball into the area.
Roma had the last word. In stoppage time Santiago Castro, on as a substitute, found Daniele Ghilardi, who drove the ball past Maduka Okoye from the right of the area.
Roma move to 24 points and stay unbeaten in the league after ten matches. Udinese stay on five points and in the bottom three. They scored twice, one more than in their previous five league matches together, and still lost by three.
