Cagliari's defence has let in ten in three games, and unbeaten Lazio are next

Cagliari kept their goal all but shut through six league games and have conceded ten in the three since. Lazio, unbeaten and level with Inter at the top, are without Albert Gudmundsson, who has a shoulder injury.

Cagliari's back line held for six games and then gave way. Three goals went in during their first six league matches; ten have gone in during the three since, four at Monza, two at home to Bologna and four more at Roma on Tuesday.

Lazio should win with three goals or more and keep Cagliari out, against a defence that has let in ten in three games.

Roma was the cruellest of them. Daniel Maldini equalised in the 81st minute, and Cagliari still lost 4-2, beaten in the 85th and 87th. The four wins that opened their season, two of them away at Atalanta and Udinese, are why they still have 13 points. They are also a month old.

Lazio are the worst side to meet in that state. Gennaro Gattuso's team have won eight and drawn one of their nine league games, sit level with Inter on 25 points and have conceded seven. On Tuesday they scored six at Sassuolo, Tijjani Noslin twice.

They will do it in front of few of their own. Supporters' protests against the club's owner have left the Olimpico largely empty this season, and the boycott shows no sign of ending for Cagliari.
