PSG host Ligue 1 leaders Lyon without Dembélé, Marquinhos and Kvaratskhelia

Lyon arrive at the Parc des Princes top of Ligue 1 only on goal difference, level on 14 points with second-placed Paris Saint-Germain in a match moved to Monday night because of protests in Paris. The champions are without Ousmane Dembélé, Marquinhos and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, while Lyon are missing Lois Openda, Nicolás Tagliafico and Mohamed Ouedraogo.

First meets second in Ligue 1, although the top six are separated by one point and both sides could be out of the top three by Monday. The Paris police prefecture banned the original Sunday date because of protests, and the LFP moved the match to Monday 26 October at 20:30 local time, a slot that clashes with the 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony in London. According to kickfootball and RMC, PSG and the LFP had opposed the move, but Luis Enrique said: "If we play on Monday, it's better given the current situation. I accept it very cheerfully." The expected outcome is a Paris Saint-Germain win, with three goals or more and both sides scoring.

Paris Saint-Germain should come out on top in an open game of three goals or more, with both sides scoring.

PSG confirmed that Kvaratskhelia has torn the ACL in his right knee and needs surgery, while Dembélé and Marquinhos have thigh muscle tears that will keep them out for several weeks; Dembélé, the 2025 winner, and Kvaratskhelia are both Ballon d'Or nominees. Nuno Mendes is doubtful and likely to miss out. Luis Enrique called it "business as usual" and said Kvaratskhelia "will come back stronger". Lyon are without Openda, Tagliafico and Ouedraogo, and Keito Nakamura is reported to be suspended after a red card against Nice. Jérôme Brisard is the referee.

PSG have won seven straight competitive matches, including 4 Ligue 1 wins in a row and a 4-2 victory over Barcelona in the Champions League on 20 October. They have scored in each of their last 52 Ligue 1 home games. Lyon have lost only 1 of 7 Ligue 1 matches but were beaten 3-0 at Hoffenheim in the Europa League on Thursday, when Paulo Fonseca rotated his side. "We managed the team's playing time because we have a very important and very difficult match for us against PSG," Fonseca said.

Lyon won the most recent meeting 1-2 at the Parc des Princes, a result that ended a run of six straight defeats to PSG in all competitions. "Last year, they won the match in Paris. It's the same team, the same coach. They are a very courageous side," Luis Enrique said. Before that, PSG won 2-3 at Lyon on 9 November 2025 and by the same score at Lyon on 23 February, beat them 3-1 at home on 15 December and won 1-2 against them in the Coupe de France on 25 May.
